The inaugural season of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada was so successful, that Porsche Canada promised the series would be back in 2012. Not only would the series return, but they assured competitors and media that the competition would be even better as the field would swell. The series gets a big boost today with the news that Pfaff Automotive Partners would be fielding a car for Kyle Marcelli this year.

Twenty one year old Marcelli is a popular driver in the American Le Mans Series and has been a friend of The Garage since he joined us as an instructor at our Winter Driving school for teens a couple of years ago.

Pfaff Automotive Partners returns to the Canadian racing circuit in the 2012 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada with Kyle Marcelli
TORONTO, ON – April 5th, 2012 – Pfaff Automotive Partners today announced the return to the Canadian racing circuit in the 2012 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada with Kyle Marcelli as lead driver. In its second year, the Porsche Cup series is North America’s fastest growing single-make racing series, expanding from six to nine races and adding two new venues including the Formula 1 race weekend in Montreal.

At just 21 years of age, Kyle Marcelli has established himself as one of North America’s rising stars in professional racing around the world. Marcelli began racing at the age of 11 and has become a major player in the Canadian racing scene with 12 wins, 15 pole positions and 46 podium finishes with just 84 races under his belt.

The GT3 Cup series is already gaining considerable notoriety amongst the Canadian racing community and is now backed by Porsche Canada. It was developed in conjunction with the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) and is designed to develop new drivers and prepare them for competition in the American Le Mans Series.
Pfaff has built a strong heritage in Canadian motorsport, having raced in various series over the years including the Porsche Turbo Cup Series, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car in the Speed World Challenge Series and most recently the Canadian Touring Car Series.

About Kyle Marcelli – Race Car Driver
(Born February 23rd 1990 in Ontario, Canada) At just 21 years of age, Canada’s Kyle Marcelli has established himself as one of North America’s rising stars in professional auto racing across the globe. After a successful karting and single-seater career, Kyle made his rookie debut into sports car racings “Big Show”, the American Le Mans Series in 2010.
